We get some lovely comments left in our visitors books from our guests. We have decided to put a few on our website to give you a taster as to what people think of Rural Roosts.....
Luxurious, relaxing, peaceful - plus cake!! - Perfect! A holiday to remember and a destination we shall visit often.
A superb home from home! Thankyou for everything.
Thankyou for a delightful stay. Accommodation was excellent! Very comfortable and relaxing.
Had a great New Year here, everything just perfect! - look forward to coming back in the summer for two weeks - thankyou so much.
We came back! Wonderful week and good to see REAL countryside! Brown hares and rabbits in abundance. Super to see the owl, hope you get more. Children have been overawed with so much to see and do:- recommend 'Rand Farm Park'; Skegness - so clean and friendly; 'Woodside Falconry' - all ages can have plenty to amuse them- try the pig racing!!
Couldn't have had a better week, accommodation superb, weather outstanding and fishing 12 hours a day - bliss. See you again soon.
What a lovely 'rural retreat', We have had a super Christmas holiday here in your beautiful, well equipped lodge: Well done!
A great base from which to explore Lincolnshire...although we were in no hurry to set off for the day, the lodge was too cosy! It was exciting to see 3 barn owls and all the other wildlife.
Enjoyed our Easter break in this fantastic lodge. A good base to discover Lincolnshire. Lincoln is lovely, Belton Hall is a good day out. The Robin Hood Experience in Nottingham is worth the travel! Lovely meals at the Farmers Arms and also The Nags Head. Going home well rested and de-stressed! We will definitely return.
A lovely place to appreciate nature, peace and s p a c e !
Another lovely break, it just gets better. Good luck with the new lodge!
6 adults and 8 children had a fine time! Brilliant space for kids to run around and have their own adventures. Lincoln is a lovely city - we'd definitely like to come back and explore some more. Thank you for all the nice touches in the lodge.
We have all enjoyed our three day stay at this wonderful lodge. The men have loved the fishing and the ladies have had a great time exploring the surrounding countryside Lincoln lived up to our expectations, a memorable day out. Louis the dog has never had so many walks!
Fishing was mint - 10 out of 10!
Firstly I like to say how much we enjoyed our stay at Rural Roosts last week . The lodges were brilliant, absolutely home from home with some nice extra touches. Apart from being very warm, they featured all the home comforts. Shame the weather stopped us using the patio decking area fully. Whoever made the Lemon cake should be congratulated, it was wonderful (shame it didn’t come with custard). Everything about Rural Roosts was spot on, fully equipped lodges, ideal location, peace and quiet, fishing & a very relaxing atmosphere.
We may not have been your usual holiday party, as we came for our annual informal fishing competition. But with two lakes to choose from it was fish, fish & fish. The small lake with the lodges around we found well stocked and is ideal for the pleasure angler or the newbie. You can’t fail to catch and you will be surprised by the odd carp which run from approx 2lb - 8lb, for a novice it’s like catching Jaws. But being a bunch of experienced fishermen we opted for the bigger lake, which has the reputation of being hard. Well I wouldn’t go that far but you do have to work & wait for your catch. Carp in this lake we were told run from 6lb – 20lb, we never caught a double during our match but winkled out quite a few of the smaller ones. (Top tip for future fishermen - Don’t get drawn into the middle of the lake), the fish seem to feed about 20-30ft from the bank.
All in all it was a wonderful week staying at Rural Roosts, we certainly won’t hesitate booking again, in fact one of our party is already considering returning. One last recommendation for people staying at Rural Roosts - Visit the Woodside Falconry and Conservation centre about 3 miles away. It was well worth the visit for people of all ages but especially if you have young kids, the handlers like to get them hands on with the wildlife.
Again many thanks & we will most certainly be booking again.
