Kingfisher Lodge, November ‘12
We are on an epic journey on bikes from Kent to Northallerton in North Yorkshire for a very worthy cause, Tommy’s and TAMPA. We’ve raised over £20k and are 188 miles into our 325 miles! Rural Roosts have been extremely generous in donating a lovely lodge for us all to stay in. We love it so much we all want to organise a return trip with husbands, wives, family and friends. Thanks, guys, for your kindness.

We have had a fantastic weekend, the walks, birds, rabbits and this morning, donkeys and a stoat. Thank you very much for the food left and the cake made the weekend as we arrived late on Friday. Be back again for definite.

Barn Owl Cottage, February ‘13
We had a fantastic holiday here, an opportunity to slowdown, relax and spend some quality time together. The cottage is gorgeous, spacious, well decorated and totally amazing. We have enjoyed the hot-tub enormously and have relished the visits from the owl. The welcome pack, bread, milk, cake etc are a very nice touch and we enjoyed there being no formal check-in etc. The location of the cottage is idyllic and we have enjoyed some lovely walks in the countryside. We will recommend this stay to friends and family and will return.

Beautiful lodge, clean with everything you need at hand. We came for a much needed break. “Sir” was busy fishing whilst I relaxed, and I could, because we were never disturbed. Thank you Katie for your warm welcome when we arrived. The fruit, milk, bread and delicious cake went down a treat. Can’t fault anything. Darren feels and island feature in the middle of the lake is needed, he caught a few fish but feels they were aware of his lines! Keep up the great work, we will be back.

Well, what can we say, yet another fantastic break. Fishing – BRILL! Caught quite few common carp and a lovely mirror carp. Absolutely love it here. Katie and the team are so welcoming and the lemon drizzle cake is out of this world, Mary Berry would be well proud. Our batteries are now charged back up. We cannot wait until July when we are back in Swan and back in here in September – unless of course those six numbers come out! Take care, see you in July xxx

Lost count of our number of stays at Rural Roosts but, as always, our visit this time was just PERFECT. A haven of peace, calm and relaxation. Thanks Katie, we can now return fully prepared for what work, SATS and A-levels throw at us! See you all again real soon.
