Wishing you a very Happy New Year from the team and family here at Rural Roosts. It has been a beautiful, crisp start to 2026 here on the farm, as we’ve been gifted with a glistening blanket of snow and wonderful winter blue skies. So often the new year can bring the expectation to leap back into productivity, but this cold snap has acted as a gentle reminder to follow nature’s rhythm. Rather than allowing the pressure of the new year to overwhelm, January can be a time to rest, to reflect and recharge. Slowing down, and noticing the frost sparkling in the morning sun, the intricate icy patterns that sit in puddles along the tracks, the sun, low and shining through the pine trees casting shadows across the frozen lake.
Looking back at 2025, we are so pleased to have welcomed so many new and returning guests for a tranquil retreat at Rural Roosts. The spring and summer brought an abundance of beautiful sunshine, whilst the winter crept along with glittering frosty mornings and vast starry skies. The year welcomed a flurry of fauna too, from starlings and barn owls to badgers and deer.
Reflections on the year that has passed also brings the opportunity to express our gratitude to our wonderful team here at Rural Roosts. Clare, Lavinia, Rachel and Lauren work hard throughout the year to maintain our high standards, so that guests can arrive at their lodge and feel entirely at ease. We receive very regular reviews commenting on the consistent standard of cleanliness in the lodges, and that is thanks to our wonderful team who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Our groundskeeper, Michael, works hard to ensure this site is kept tidy, maintaining the grounds and hot tubs throughout the seasons. Tim’s mum, Ann, has been an integral part of the team throughout the years, taking care of the flora around the lodges and surrounding site. We feel so lucky to have such a wonderful, dedicated team that truly make Rural Roosts what it is.
And finally, thank you. Thank you for choosing Rural Roosts as your place to unwind each year, and for your ongoing support. We have lots of exciting plans for the year ahead, and we look forward to welcoming many new and returning guests to the lodges in 2026.
