The Lincoln Grand Prix Festival of Cycling is due to take place this weekend 10th – 11th May. This is a great weekend of cycling in the historic City of Lincoln. There are lots of events and activities to take part in or to watch. Tim and Katie will be there, Tim is taking part in the race on Saturday, so if you if you can make it there to support him, we are sure you will really enjoy the day.
On Saturday May 3rd, hundreds of riders will take part over the two distances of 55 and 92 miles. There is also an intermediate distance of 75 miles plus a 25 mile family ride for those with youngsters. All the distances start from the Yarborough Leisure Centre and finish in Castle Square and include the arduous climb up the infamous cobbled Michaelgate. On Sunday May 4th - The big Grand Prix for the professional riders takes place over a distance of 102 miles over 13 laps of the 8 mile circuit. This event pulls in all the best UK based teams and riders and also attracts many foreign teams and riders too, it’s very exciting to watch!
If you are able to make it, we hope you also get the chance to look around the shops, pubs and restaurants in Bailgate and Steep Hill areas too and to take in the historic beauty of Lincoln.
